Jim Meko is honored with Jim Berk Memorial Award

In photo Michael Nulty, President of Alliance for A Better District 6 presents Jim Meko with the 1st Jim Berk Memorial Award for his lifetime of leadership and public service to the diverse communities of San Francisco. Also in picture is Captain Daniel McDonagh of Southern Station. Award presentation was apart of the Alliance’s annual meeting on January 8th, 2008.

I could not think of a better person to be given the first of these rewards. Hopefully I will be able to stand to receive such an honorable award. but that is a century from now if Jim Meko sets the standard.

James Leo Dunn inspired many peoples when he decided to become a candidate for supervisor in 2000. Having a Memorial Award named afer him carries on his legancy. James Leo Dunn was well liked and will be missed.
